MMM Rocks? ..... vote for "Dirty Little Bitch - BLACK LABEL"

Ok, trying something out here, I want to see what influence this blog can have on a music countdown, its not a power trip, I just don't like the direction Sydney's Rock Radio is going. Classic rock is great, but it will kill any new real Aussie rock (not the "new rock" crap they play now)

What I would like is for YOU to do me a favour and go here and Vote for "Dirty Little Bitch - BLACK LABEL"
I don't care if you are not from Sydney or if you use 2skids@gmail for a email address.

So if AUSROCK Blog has ever done a favour for you, its your chance to pay it (well me) back, cost you nothing, just 30seconds of your time, thanks.

Vote for "Dirty Little Bitch - BLACK LABEL"
New album containing Dirty Little Bitch will be available soon

The SUNNYBOYS 4 track EP 1979

Young Australians in the early eighties fell in love with the passionate pop-rock songs of the Sunnyboys, based in Sydney but originally from the NSW North Coast, made up of brothers Jeremy and Peter Oxley, Bil Bilson and Richard Burgman.

The music was power-pop at its finest. Songs like “Happy Man”, “Alone with You”, “Love to Rule”, “What You Need” and others do stand the test of time.

Probably their best known and most successful song was “Alone with You”. This was actually written by Jeremy Oxley while he was still at school.

HEROES - S/T 1980

Heroes began in October 1977 when ex-Rabbit members Jim Porteus, Mark Tinson & Phil Screen recruited vocalist Peter De Jong. Basing themselves in Newcastle emphasising pub rock which gained them a good following. In 1980 the band signed to Alberts/EMI and recorded this, their self titled album which reached #1.

Heroes other claim to fame is that they were the last band to play at Newcastle's Star Hotel, the controversial closure of which sparked off street violence and rioting that night. Their choice of song, The Star and the Slaughter, led later to singer Peter de Jong being charged with the incitement to riot. One verse runs: "I want action, And I want fighting in the streets. Gonna take this town by storm, Gonna burn the buildings down ... "
