Thanks for posting the skyhooks! Horror movie is such a great song that should be heard by the masses! It's also odd to see kings of the sun because i remember the song "drop the gun" from an album after or before this one posted here and it really rocked! I'm requesting the self entitled album from the aussie band "boom crash opera." This version came out in the states with the songs "great wall" and "her charity" to name a few. I'm not sure if the aussie version was different. It's a lost album surely out of print but deserves to be heard. If you like anything by inxs up to listen like thieves you might like this album. Which comes to another request: Inxs "stay young 1979-1982 The Complete Deluxe Years" It's got a lot of early stuff and live stuff from the same period which from the little snippets sounds interesting.
Thank you!

Overhere said...

HI Skids

Essendon Airport: I don't have Palimpsest but do have a couple of 7" releases, "Sonic Investigations (Of The Trivial)" EP and "Talking To Cleopatra" single, and a few other tracks from various sources, including a Palimpsest out-take. Any use?

Baskingshark - thanks for the musics.

I mixed 3 Pel Mel gigs in Melb. in 1982 (their regular guy wasn't available)... and as a consequence I think I still have the demo cassette they sent me. If I can find it I'll make it available. Won't be for a few months though.

Anyway, I look forward to anything else you can post.

Thanks again.

Hello!

Great Blog! I'm from Germany and I'm a lover of Australian Pop/Rock since 1982, when I first heard "Hey Little Girl" from ICEHOUSE or MEN AT WORK's "Down Under". There's lots of other great stuff in my collection like NOISEWORKS, LRB, INXS, DAY BRAITHWAITE etc. So maybe I can help someone out with these. But here's the reason for all the talking: I'm looking for

1927 - "...ish" and "The Other Side"

I'd really appreciate, if someone could post these.

Thanks and keep this blog alive!
Robert from Germany

Hello All (Skids, No_Exit, Overhere, et al,

Listen, I'm afraid I have been a bit rude. I have been downloading all your awesome links on these blogs, but I have not taken the time to thank everyone who has been kind enough to share all this music. Thank You!! Hopefully, I have made some nice contributions to the cause :-)

scopes said...

Does anyone have the soundtrack to the movie "dogs in space?" Years ago back when i had it on cassette and really dug the michael hutchence numbers! There was also a "boys next door" song called "shivers" covered by someone else with a female lead which was good too.

Grant said...

This blog is absolutely fantastic, but I do have one suggestion for you. The problem I run into is not being able to download albums simultaneously, due to Rapidshare's waiting period. If you were to distribute your files to other file hosting sites such as Megaupload, Up-File, Badongo, Sendspace, and so on, it would make things a lot easier. Just a thought.

skids said...

scopes
http://p-l-m.blogspot.com/2006/12/dogs-in-space-1986.html

mal said...

Grant,
I agree with your comments, but i figure that i'm happy to put up with it if it's free !
(Can be frustrating though!!)

Grant said...

Yeah for sure. I really appreciate the work being done, I just didn't know whether it had been considered. :)

mal said...

Thanks Skids for the Dogs In Space S/T. Great movie, filmed in narrow Eucalyptus St, Richmond near cnr of Church & Bridge. 'Shivers'was an early Boys Next Door track later covered by Screaming Jets.

No_Exit said...

Grant, Speaking for myself only here the reason I up all to rapidshare is its just so much easier to plonk them into rapiduploader & forget about 'em knowning the links will be in the history when i need 'em.

As far as downloading goes I realize when you want things quickly it gets frustrating to wait an hour so between grabs but on the plus side (and the reason i dont have a premium rapidshare account)it helps me pace myself otherwise I'd burn through my monthly GB's in a week.
