When I think of Anzac day music, the song that comes to my mind is the oils "Armistice Day" although they are not actually singing about Anzac day, the song still reminds me of our diggers.DON’T WANNA BE THE ONE, BRAVE FACES, ARMISTICE DAY, SOMEONE ELSE TO BLAME, BASEMENT FLAT, WRITTEN IN THE HEART, BURNIE, QUINELLA HOLIDAY, LOVES ON SALE, IF NED KELLY WAS KING, LUCKY COUNTRY.

Skids,
Just wanted to write and say that you rock! I have all these midnight oil albums already but I couldn't help but write at how an overlooked band these guys are. Place without a postcard rocks and do so in a different way! If you haven't heard this one for those stumbling across this then i'd grab it quick.
This band was already in the unconventional(in good terms) pile as far as i was concerned when they got to this album. They employed Glyn Johns(clash, stones, who,led zep, beatles) to produce and the sound is raw. Probably the most raw recording he's been involved in. The oils do it their way on this one and finds them getting farther away from standard things you do when you play in a guitar based band which makes it exciting.
I wish there was more older live stuff from this band apart from what is commercially available. In my opinion bands today could learn a great many things from oils on how to rock while attempting new and exciting ideas and songs.
Thanks to you skids!
cheers and thank you.
